Counseling Philosophy

At Restoration Place Ministries, high quality professional counseling is offered from a Christian perspective, blending proven psychological principles with sound biblical theology. Our priority goal is to journey with our clients through a process of healing and restoration that allows them to fully accept and experience God’s unconditional love and grace.

While we are committed to meeting each client where she is, as Christian therapists we are also committed to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture as our foundation, seeking to look at human problems from the perspective of God’s Word.

We believe that God is the One who changes people. The distinctive of Christian counseling is its trust in a redeeming God who has the power to change the human heart. We see ourselves not as the creator of change, but as instruments in the hands of the One who can create change superior to anything a counselor or counselee could ask or imagine.

  • We believe in one God, eternally being in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life.” We believe in His deity, in His sinless life, in His death as atonement for all who believe in Him, in His bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven and His personal return in power and glory.
  • We believe in the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant Word of God. and the final authority in all matters relating to God and His creation.
  • We believe that man was created in the image of God. Then Adam fell through the sin of disobedience. Therefore, all men are corrupted in body, soul, and spirit, and all are in need of redemption.
  • We believe that salvation from the penalty of sin is by grace through the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, a free gift of God apart from works. Believers are born into the family of God by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. It is their privilege to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation.
